Stock-Turbo Q50 Pushes Easy 10s Looking for World Record

Hot 500 wheel horsepower Q50 pulls off a blistering quarter-mile passes just a few thousandths shy of stock-turbo record.
It’s no secret that the VR30DDTT engine is capable of some impressive power. Furthermore, the power people are siphoning from these engines with stock internals and turbochargers is getting more insane by the day. On the drag strip, the record for the fastest stock-turbo Q50 currently sits at 10.611 seconds, which is remarkably fast. However, there’s another Q50 right on the cusp of taking that record away. Nevertheless, Bonnie and Clyde Performance is right on the brink of beating it, and they’re only .003 seconds away.
In this video posted to the Drag Racing and Car Stuff Youtube channel, we get to witness these record-breaking attempts first hand. Right off the bat, the first clip of this monster of a Q50 shows it running a 10.85 at 127 miles per hour. However, the number to beat of 10.611 is just a hair out of reach.

This Q50 Already Holds A Couple of Titles
This Q50, according to the Bonnie and Clyde Performance Instagram page, is the first to use an air-to-air intercooler. In a tuning clip, it shows that his beast of a Q50 made 518 wheel horsepower with this setup running E30 fuel. That’s a pretty amazing number for a stock-turbo setup.
Of course, a quick look at the Bonnie and Clyde website reveals that they are no strangers to modifying luxury and performance cars. They offer a host of products for not only Infiniti models but also everything spanning from Audi to Porsche as well. So, clearly, this vehicle is in good hands.
“It’s stock turbo, stock trans, stock differential, stock mounts. I have no driveshaft, no axles, no subframe collars, no trans mount,” says the driver, referencing the remarkable lack of upgrades on this car that resulted in its remarkable power output. Effectively, it’s only an air-to-air intercooler conversion with upgraded fuel pumps, drag tires, and some tuning.
Aside from a set of drag slicks outback, this thing looks pretty stock otherwise, too. However, we think that’s pretty awesome! Who doesn’t love a sleeper-esque 500 wheel horsepower force of nature disguised as a plush luxury sedan?

So Close You Can Almost Taste It
Though the car did not quite crack the record of 10.611, they got remarkably close. Their fastest pass of the night was a 10.611 at 128.44 miles per hour. Furthermore, using rear-wheel-drive only, it managed a mind-blowing 1.4-second 60-foot time. Considering that 60 foot, this car absolutely has more in it at the back half.
The driver states that they will be back on the following Saturday to give the record another shot. Presumably, that’s the weekend of February 19th. So, we may be getting some news of a new stock-turbo Q50 drag pass here within the next few days!
We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes open for updates on this car. We think it has plenty more in it, given the impressive numbers it’s pulling for all the stock components it has. Who knows? Maybe with the right modifications, this thing could make its way to the 9s. What do you think of this car? Let us know on the MyQ Forum!
